Insurance and payment

Insurance is managed through Foundations for Change.

Because insurance networks and plan rules can change, this site does not reproduce a permanent list of accepted plans. The current list is maintained by Foundations for Change.

Additional payment information

  • Cash, check, and credit or debit cards are accepted.
  • A superbill can be provided for clients seeking possible out-of-network reimbursement.
  • Sliding-scale appointments may be available based on financial need and current availability.
  • After intake paperwork is complete, the billing manager will provide available information about benefits and expected copayments.

Benefit information is not a guarantee that an insurer will pay a claim. Clients may also contact their insurer directly about coverage, deductibles, and plan requirements.

Scheduling

Daytime appointments with a predictable intake process

After an initial appointment is scheduled, intake paperwork is sent through the SimplePractice client portal. The paperwork must be completed before the first session.

After paperwork is submitted, the Foundations for Change billing manager will email available information about insurance benefits and expected copayments, when applicable.

Late cancellations and missed appointments

$75 with less than 24 hours’ notice

Appointments canceled with fewer than 24 hours’ notice and missed appointments are subject to a $75 fee.

I generally offer a one-time forgiveness. The fee is also waived when the missed or late-canceled appointment is rescheduled for a time within five business days.

Formal billing and cancellation terms will be included in the practice intake paperwork. When that paperwork and this summary differ, the current signed practice policy controls.

Frequently asked questions

Common questions before starting

Do you offer in-person and online therapy?

Yes. In-person appointments are available at 3701 Grandel Square in Midtown St. Louis. Online therapy is available for clients physically located in Missouri at the time of the appointment. ADHD evaluations are completed in person.

What ages do you work with?

I generally provide therapy for children, teens, and adults age 10 and older. Younger children may occasionally be considered after consultation.

ADHD evaluations are generally available beginning at age 8. Younger children may be evaluated in some circumstances, although a diagnosis is often deferred under age 8. Preliminary autism screening is available for ages 8–17.

Do you offer couples counseling?

No. I work with individuals on relationship concerns, communication, boundaries, family dynamics, sexuality, and decisions about relationships, but I do not provide couples counseling.

How involved will I be in my child’s therapy?

Parent involvement depends on the child’s age, needs, goals, preferences, and safety. I usually provide children and teens with meaningful private time in therapy. Periodic parent check-ins, parent education, and occasional joint sessions are often helpful.

Do you assign homework?

Sometimes, but only collaboratively. I may offer a worksheet, reflection exercise, coping skill, or practical experiment when it could help continue the work between sessions. These are invitations, not requirements. Not completing one is not a failure.

Do I need to have ADHD to work with you?

No. ADHD is my primary specialty, but I also work extensively with anxiety, depression, emotional regulation, stress, burnout, self-esteem, relationships, grief, and life transitions. You do not need to know your diagnosis before contacting me.

Is the ADHD evaluation psychological testing?

No. It is a clinical diagnostic assessment that may include interviews, rating scales, collateral information, record review, and assessment of other possible explanations. It does not include formal neuropsychological, intellectual, achievement, or psychoeducational testing.

Will an ADHD evaluation provide a diagnosis?

A diagnosis may be provided when the available clinical evidence supports one. Sometimes the findings do not support ADHD, remain inconclusive, or indicate that additional psychological, medical, educational, or neuropsychological testing is needed.

Will your report guarantee school or workplace accommodations?

No. A report may support an accommodation request, but each school, employer, university, testing organization, or licensing body sets its own requirements. Some organizations require forms of testing that I do not provide.

Do you diagnose autism?

No. I provide preliminary autism screening for children and teens ages 8–17. Screening can help determine whether comprehensive autism testing may be appropriate, but it does not provide an autism diagnosis.

Can autism screening be added to an ADHD evaluation?

Yes. ADHD evaluations include consideration of whether autistic traits may also be relevant. More detailed autism-specific questionnaires and interviews can be incorporated when indicated. This remains a preliminary screening.

Do you offer therapy in Spanish?

No. I speak Spanish, but I am not currently offering Spanish-language counseling. Therapy and evaluations are provided in English.

What happens after I schedule?

You will receive intake documents through the SimplePractice client portal. These must be completed before the first appointment. After submission, the billing manager will email available information about insurance benefits and expected costs.

Can I speak with you before scheduling?

Yes. A complimentary consultation call is available upon request. It is an opportunity to briefly discuss what you are looking for and whether my services appear to be an appropriate fit. It is not a therapy or crisis session.

Still unsure where to begin?

The inquiry form includes an “I’m not sure” option.

You can briefly describe the general concern, and we can determine the most appropriate next step.
